Why would you expect them to laugh? My service manager ordered a new shock when I told him one was blown. Didn't actually look at it until the new one came in.

Not them laugh, Me , I get to laugh, here's why, I went to the dealer about my driver heated seat being out, they told me I have to bring it back , have a tech check it, and if he say's it blown order the part and bring it back for them to do the install, Im ok with the install part, but they just couldn't have a tech come out and hit the button, and put his hand on it to see it was out, so lets see, lose a days pay, site in the dealer for hrs, to have a tech say , YEA its not working, then bring it back a few days later, losing another days pay, for install, not worth the 90.00 out of my pocket.
So as for the shocks, I'll go there to hear there bull story, and laugh, then end up rebuilding them myself.

That sucks that they treated you that way. Definitely had some issues with my dealer's service department. Came down to the dealership owner and I talking and him personally handling a few things. Now things go very smoothly for the most part. The service manager has learned that when I lay out the research I have done into whatever issue I bring to them that it isn't just my best guess. The issue is real and they need to approach it as such. I know they still have to submit things to Ford for approval before getting paid but it is unfair to treat you that way.

Exactly, the service manager should of just gave a check, and set me up with the repair date, so now we will see what goes on with the shock, and hope they don't know what mid perch is, lol. If it doesn't go well Ill order the rebuild kits for both, as well as the progressive spings and do it on vacation. can't see spending the money on 3.0's with all the salt they throw out during the winters her in jersey.

Competent AND truly customer service oriented dealerships are near impossible to find. I had one that was decent.
Until I had my ray bans stolen out of my truck two weeks ago and was blown off.
It's not easy for most of us to find a good service department.
Crystal throws out a lot of "life vests" to us forum members. Give her a shout out maybe she can help?

Crystal reached out to me and then had the regional customer servive person(Heather) for my area call me. Heather called the dealer and then arranged to expedite a replacement shock delivery. She has followed up with me twice since then. All started by Crystal reaching out. So, I agree reach out to her if you have any issues.

Ok, went to the dealer Sat 7, 2014, Arrived at 7am, and by 10 am there was nothing done, first they put my truck on the alignment machine , where there tech left it running for almost 10min while he was off doing what ever, so I yelled to another tech to shut my ******* truck off, So the service manager came out and asked whats going on, so I told him if your not paying for my gas don't leave my truck running if no one is working on it, then the tech gets back and starts looking at my shocks, along with the ser-manager, then the teck walks away, and the ser-manager comes over to talk to me, as where talking the tech hands him a piece of paper with FORD TSBS Info, list as follows:

(44421) SVT RAPTOR-SHOCK ABSORBER NOISE OVER BUMPS
2010-2014 SVT RAPTOR VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH UNIUE-PERFORMANCE FOX SHOCK ABSORBERS DESIGNED FOR SEVERE OFF-ROAD USE. (22428- SERVICE TIP ) 2011-2012 F-150 HYDAULIC POWER ASSIST STEERING EXPERIENCING KNOCKING NOISE WITH ENGINE OFF,
SOME 2011-2012 F-150 VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH HYDAULIC POWER ASSIST STEERING (HPAS) MAY EXSPERIENCE A KNOCKING NOISE GENERATED WHEN MOVING THE STEERING WHEEL BACK-AND FORTH WITH THE ENGINE OFF, REPLACING HYDRAULIC RACK AND PINION STEERING SYSTEM COMPONENTS WILL NOT RESOLVE THIS CONDITION, THIS IS NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE HYDRAULIC RACK AND PINION STEERING SYSTEM WHEN THE VEHICLE IS NOT RUNNING. EFFECTIVE DATE: 30-JUNE-2014.

To continue, the ******** did not check the back side of the shocks where the oil from the shocks is running down, to see it's a little more than a weepage, next we move on to my heated set issue, the tech checks the connections, checks the switch in the dash, and all fuses, they comfirm the heated seat is out, great one out of 2 right, WRONG, the SER-MANAGER, then comes over to me and comfirms its out, but theres one more test they like to do, but it will take 3 hrs, due to them having to take the seat cover off, then if that test fails, they have to order the parts and i will have to come back in 2 days for the repair that will take a few hrs, so i told them they don't have to take the seat cover off, just use a meter and check continuity, or ohm it out, I got the dumb look, and they just went back to there ******** lines again, so I flipped telling them to take my truck off the lift, don't touch another thing, then explained to them ,3hrs of watching the tech do shit, and that I am a mechanic, and not an ******* off the street, and told them to hire tech's that know what there looking at and looking for, also got a check coming back to me for the ESP protection, bottom line is ford is looking to skate on any warranty, and not all but most dealer techs should get a job at jiffy lube, I'll bit the bullet and fix it myself, not worth going to another dealer to do it all over again.
SORRY FOR THE RANT, HAD TO VENT.

Wow, that is horrible. Had definitely hoped you would have been treated fairly this time. Sorry that happened.

Having worked at a Ford dealer in a previous life it is a difficult balance. Keep in mind they represent Ford, but don't work for Ford, so ever for them they are put in the middle many times. They have to take the information which has been supplied by Ford and interpret what it means. For example in this case a weep to one person is a major leak to another. Not saying how is right or wrong here, just to keep this in mind.
