Sure there wasn't any ice underneath?

Back when I lived in Portland, II was driving to the airport one morning in my old truck with BFG A/T's with 3" of snow on the ground. Same experience, couldn't believe how little traction there was. On the way I stopped at a video store to drop off a rental. I could barely walk across the parking lot.

It was on THIS infamous day:

1 year ago in the snow I couldn't get my truck to slip, slide, or get stuck no matter how hard I tried. This morning my truck is just all over the place. I about b*tch slapped an explorer with my truck bed. The truck downshifted on the freeway anc sent me all over the road. Thank god for traction control.
but what gives. My tires still have a good amount of tread left but they horrible this year.

At about 30,000 mine sucked in the rain and mud. Last year, while still fairly new, in the snow/ice and mud I couldn't make her spin. At 38,000 I replaced them.
