Every time I remote start using the fob in the morning, when it is cool(ish), the heated steering wheel is on. When this first happened, I went into advance settings, remote start, and switched the climate settings to “last settings,” and the steering wheel and seats from “auto” to “off.” These setting seem to be sticking through key cycles, but yet, the steering wheel heater is still coming on. Any ideas?

Not sure you can change it. When it’s hot it turns on the seat cooler, when it’s cold heat and heated wheel. I personally like it. When you hit the start button then it goes to the settings. You might be able to change this in forscan

Thanks. My reading of the manual suggested that the advanced settings make this user-adjustable, but it’s a bit cursory and not 100% clear. I’ve done some Forscan coding already, so maybe I’ll research that angle. Not a biggie, but would prefer to turn it off. It comes on when it really isn’t cold enough to need it, and I’m not a fan of heated steering wheels anyway.

There is an option in Forscan where you can add the heated steering wheel icon to the sync home screen making it easier to turn off at least.

Have you checked the hvac settings in the center screen? Should be a steering wheel icon with a little red box if the heater is on.

But in Sounds like it should be off with your settings in the advanced menu.

Or it could be a module that has a glitch.

But from what I remember(its not cold here in AZ lol)my truck doesn't heat the wheel unless told to.

Its only suppossed to turn on automatically (Gen2) during Remote Start in cold weather. Ive always had to turn ot on manually even in 20 degree weather.

It should not come on if turned off in the remote start settings. It sounds like a programming glitch.

Thanks. I think it’s a glitch too. Not sure it is worth taking it to the dealer to have some monkey screw around with it for days on end.

yeah...not anywhere near cold enough yet for it to come on. Has to be below 40 degrees ambient for that function to work
