I didn't wrap mine and my headers aren't coated. No issues but there's nothing wrong with staying on the safe side. I think blondie ordered the starter heat shield off amazon.

I wrapped mine with a generic adhesive wrap from Napa. I am not sure if it was necessary, but since it was easy to get to and it is very close to the headers; better safe.

Hi, I really hope you guys might be able to help me. I have kinda gotten myself in a bind. Did you have to remove the bolts on both the left and right engine mounts? Or just the right like the instructions say? I have been trying to jack the engine but the whole truck just comes up. Right now I only have the right engine mount bolts removed.

Right motor mount bolts only. Idk why it would be doing that.

Thanks for responding man. I really don't know what is going on. It's just the two nuts and three bolts on the right motor mount, right?

Can you think of anything else that would prevent the motor moving up? I unbolted the transmission from the cross member mount but that didn't seem to do it.?

Remove the two nuts, raise the engine, and then remove the three bolts. Were you able to get the bolts out already?

If you followed the instructions it should be coming up. Stock manifolds are off? Air box and intake disconnected?

Where are you jacking up at?
