I pussed out.

Two of the skid plate bolts were stripped so spent 30 minutes trying to get those out. Started looking at everything and decided to let someone else do it when I get back to the states and don't have to worry about annual inspections and noise violations.

How where those stripped? Corrosion? Do they use salt over there too?

You didn't even get past the skid plate?! What are you a girl or something?

I turned in my man card to the hobby shop manager as I sulked away to truck with my head down and tail tucked between my legs. The skid plate bolts are 15mm btw.

Yes they use salt. No clue, it had to be from the factory, as that plate has never been off the truck. It was the front two bolt's on the rear skid. The slip nut was still intact, so it wasn't corroded.

We had to use a pry bar and put tension on the skid and then go after the nut's with an impact gun. After hitting that wall, then looking at all the rusted exhaust and bolt's that couldn't be seen according to the directions and MB's write-up I decided to wait until the truck is in back in the states.

I don't need the hassle of sensitive flight management, German laws, limited dealership support if something goes more wrong than a stripped bolt, and the very real possibility of someone vandalizing it because it's too loud. It already stands out enough as it is. If I had another vehicle that I could drive everyday and didn't have a 2 day window to finish, where I could progress on it as I feel like, then maybe. It's just not worth the hassle right now.
