How does that make the Raptor “slow” though?

My nope was for my age being 20...

The original question was do sports car owners "think" the Raptor is slow? The perception of speed is relative to a person's experience with driving fast cars. My feelings are based on my time in the seat of some very fast cars, so I it seems slow to me.

The Raptors actual speed is irrelevant to what I think about it. I have also driven a Ford Lightning and a Viper truck, so the Raptor is not even the fastest truck I have driven. With that said, I still love my Gen 2 and it is plenty fast-enough for what I need...

Nope, but I have experience with cars that are much faster...

Z06s, Cobra Rs, Vipers, Hellcats to name a few

Original 8 liter, V10 Viper "only" did 0-60 in the high 4s. That's not much faster than a lifted, 6,000lb pickup with a measly 3.5 liters of displacement.

My Viper is far from an original 8 liter, but we are getting way off track here.

A couple of times that I've stepped on it, I was surprised how fast the speed picks up. When it's not fully warmed up, it has that stumbling feeling like a carburated engine that some complain about, but it seems smoother once warmed up. The power is certainly better than the Explorer I traded in with the regular 3.5 EcoBoost but nothing like the 14 Mustang GT I used to have.

Not doubting your late-model Viper is fast. Just pointing out the original Viper that the automotive press gushed over wasn't much faster than a stock G2. And I've driven multiple Ferrari's that couldn't hang with the G2 off the line. This Raptor is as quick as most of the sports cars we had hanging on our bedroom walls when we were kids.

Lol, the original viper was launched like 26 years ago, and was more than one second quicker to 60...lol, i think your missing the point of the discusion, read the tittle again!

We are all owners bud, i love the raptor...its sort of fast for a truck, but its slow compared to sports sedans, and super slow compared to sports cars, which was the op question, comment.

No it’s not sports car fast but it is the fastest factory production truck ever made. Still for the life of me can’t understand why people think a 3 ton truck is a sports car even though it will hang with them.

You need to reread the OP. The question isn't if the Raptor can hang with a C7 ZR1, that's just dumb. But if the Raptor feels fast to sports car owners. I think my 5.3 second G2 is really quick while my 4.1 second M3 is relatively meh. One is a 6,000# truck that shouldn't be as quick as it is. The other is a fairly average, late model sports car. One impresses the hell out of me. The other is nice, but nothing special.

You were the one originally comparing the g2 to the viper, not me i just pointed that the original viper was launched 26 years ago...

The 0-60 in the raptor is good, then it dies, mostly physics and gearing,

As a sport car owner i feel the raptor is not quick.{its still a freaking awesome truck). But compared to current sport car is not (911 turbo s, gtr, 720s,570s etc)....and i am not just talking 0-60.

I will however agree your m3 0-60 is meh, to bad bmw in all its awesomness couldnt figure out a good launch strategy....now if ford could add that bwm exhaust sound to the raptor, i would be golden.

MPT PRX 93 and the truck is very quick from 70 to 130. Stock = Dog in the same scenario.

Its no Z06, but I only drive trucks daily, and this one is fast.

Its on my list, i want to put at least 6000 miles before i flash the ecu, i am also hoping cobb launches its accessport, since is what i use on my gtr.

And honestly my biggest gripe with the truck is that spot, 60ish to 80ish, its painful to pass cars on the highway...
