The way I read it is Ford disabled the auto start/stop if the truck has a 400W subwoofer installed from the factory. The Forscan tweak tells the truck it has the factory 400W sub, even if it doesn't, and therefore it disables the start/stop.

What you've added to your truck, or what wattage it is means nothing in that context.

I have read it tricks it into thinking 400w sub is connected. But why would Ford disable start/stop if they install a sub?

Why so much hate towards the stop/start feature? I know it can be jerky, but is it really that bad?

If I was driving a Fusion or Edge, I wouldn't mind it. I'd deal with it. But I am driving a performance vehicle.

I have driven lots of cars with it and I always turn it off immediately. It feels unnatural and is noticeable.

:challenge:

at least me and Guy are running a Kenwood amp, mine at 300w, his pushing 200 (over ? 4 ohms? )

stop/start still functions. Maybe 300 isn’t enough load, but I’ve been able to get a temporary suppression by listening to tunes while washing / drying the truck. I get about 15-20 minutes of drive time with no stop start ; reason is charging.

YMMV

I have a 600 watt amp installed and start/stop functions fine

Was it the BCM 726-48-02 x0xx-xxxx-xxxx that did the trick?

Is it ALWAYS disabled or can you enable it somehow in the menu somewhere?

I don't fully understand the second part of that video. What does disabling the switch do? What happens if you don't apply that second change?

Curious, how effective is auto start/stop on mpg? I know it depends on traffic pattern, but how much is it suppose to save typically?
