change the brake fluid completely. motive device makes it a one person job.
you don't need a lift to bleed brake fluid. But any service the tire comes off makes it easier.
Most people never change it.
If you are **** about it. changing it every 3-4 years is plenty fine.

Might help to run an ABS Bleed also, if you can get a scan tool it's pretty easy, if not get the truck up off the ground run it in 4wd, apply the brakes, this should activate the ABS. After that, do a complete system bleed.

I have done this on several Ford trucks, I bled the base brakes, then used the Ford IDS to bleed the ABS, it made a huge difference in the pedal travel and feel.

i just changed my brake fluid out after putting some longer rear brake lines on and the pedal feels much nicer. i used motul rbf600.
