Why I F'in absolutely HATE taking ANY vehicle back to the $tealership once it has been liberated!!! And WHY do so many people who work in service make up more shit than strippers? If you don't know for sure, just SAY so! If you are found to be wrong, ADMIT it... sorry, end of rant.

Hold on one damn minute. Are you telling us that stripper who professed her undying love and devotion to @Oldfart after he gave her 500 bucks was lying?

So, if you add the TPMS sensor to the spare, does the truck pick it up when you change the tire? Does the truck get confused because there are 5 sensors instead of 4? Inquiring minds want to know...

The truck will pick it up when you change the tires. Might take a bit (up to 50 miles) but it'll do it.

No, it won't pick up the 5th one in the spare position. Would have been better if it monitored the spare too.

As others have said, you'll need to get it balanced too.

Ah, but the question is, are all TPM equal? does it have to be a Ford one or is the signal universal?

Couldn't tell you that. I picked up the Ford one from Amazon (cheapest place I could find it). Had the local tire shop install and ballance.
