I wouldn't worry about the bubba rope before snoball. Its something that you very well may want to buy eventually, but between your support trucks and the other people in your group it will not necessarily be "needed" Now if it is your truck or one close to you, your equipment might be the most handy. As far as extractions go, you may want to look into if anyone offers classes near you. We have classes near us at the Uwharrie National Forest... otherwise, I would suggest that at Snoball, if time permits on the extractions, that you get out of the truck and go watch... also feel free to ask your support drivers questions.

As an FYI; GLRE Snoball Support trucks are equipped with Kinetic Ropes/Recovery Straps and/or Winches and are also CPR/AED Certified. :patriot:

So speaking of this... Yukon and I have been discussing buying an AED for Night Raptor. We understand that they have an expiration, however... if you actually need it, it is worth the cost a million times over.

Anybody have a recommendation on which AED to get? I know Delta Chase has one and if we end up getting ours before Snoball, we'll probably lend it to another group.

Read over the instructions so now I am fully trained on extractions. LOL

I don't have a brand recommendation but if you pick one let me know and I can try to price shop it for you. Not always possible but might be able to save you money depending on which wholesalers I use carry what you want.

We have Heartstart by Philips at work and its what I have trained the most on. Its a pretty nice unit, fairly small with a nice case. Its also the one I see used most at 5k runs and marathons and by local LEO.

Found this one RW. They advertise it as the "first and only AED available without a prescription".

The Philips HeartStart OnSite Defibrillator is the first and only AED available without a prescription. It is designed to be the easiest to set up and the most reliable defibrillator available. Like all HeartSmart Defibrillators, it can be used to treat infants and children as well as adults.

Please select a carry case option from the required options displayed below. The AED unit does include a case. If you do not select a carry case, your unit will arrive with a clear vinyl sleeve designed to hold the quick reference guide.

Additional features:

Weighs just 3.3 lbs
2.8" D x 7.4" H x 8.3" W
Uses clear, calm voice instructions to guide the user through each step of defibrillation, including CPR coaching
Integrated SMART Pads placed on the victim's bare skin sense and adapt the defibrillator's instructions to the user's actions
Arrives with pads cartridge and battery already installed
Determines if a heart rhythm is shockable
Advises user to call emergency services
Patented QuickShock makes the OnSite among the fastest in its class at delivering a shock after CPR
