Shock wraps. I am thinking of getting the ICON's. I know they help keep the dirt out but was thinking of these also for Snoball and winter in general. But was concern if having them on during this would or would not be a good idea. Do they tend to get too wet and start to fall off? Or do they do great with rain and snow?

I run them during the winter. They don't fall off if installed correctly.

Couldn't tell from the pictures of them that they were Velcro. Not a bad idea to run in the winter time anyway!

Required item; VHF Radio
Group buy is selling the higher end ones and there is always Icom.

I have the Baofeng UV-5R and I know it doesn't have the distance but for the Snoball "requirement", will it be acceptable?

I am going to pickup the Wouxun KG-UV8D as well as a better antenna.
I would love to get a remote screen Icom installed but I do not think I will have the time to get that done as well as my lights installed and wired as well as a Lowrance. I'll see what my budget looks like, just spent a huge amount on my new Jet Ski's mods and still need to get those installed so time will be tight with work travel.

For those that have radios installed is there issue with the antenna hitting things? I really want to have a bracket made that goes between the cab and the third brake light to mount it but the impact with low objects is my concern.
