Guys, there is a music-only alternative station... It's called AltNation.

Agreed on their customer service, I've spent collective hours on the phone with them in the past. Idiots. I use Sirius In my Rap and streaming on my iPhone, so that always further complicates those calls.

I'm completely hooked on the Sirius XMU channel, NFL Radio, Fantasy Sports Radio, and Dirty Dog comedy, so I'm not going anywhere as a customer. I did choose to drop the Travel Link though... I didn't use it very often during my trial period.

Did you get the travel and weather with your lifetime subscription? I have lifetime on mine as well. I transferred it from my other vehicle. They said I would have to start a new subscription to get the weather and travel link. I said forget it. I am wondering if I can add lifetime weather and travel to my current lifetime radio subscription. Anyone done this? If so, give me the details

At the current time, there is no lifetime for Travel Link.
You can get a yearly subscription for $23/yr.

Also, it is my belief that they do not like to sell lifetime subscriptions.
They would rather have you "on the monthly"

If I remember correctly you get 3 transfers with a lifetime sub, there is a transfer fee but do not remember $.in the early days lifetime was 299$ with three transfers now it's like triple that.
You guys getting the 80 and 25$ deals is that the premier?

You only get 3 transfers with lifetime provided it is Not a factory car radio.
The only way there is a transfer with factory car radio is:
The vehicle would have to have been in a motor vehicle accident which damaged the radio.

Well, I'm having a hell of a time canceling my subscription. I have sent two cancelation notices, called them on the phone, got threatened in a subsequent mailing and answered it with a letter of my own, and although they've credited my account for $150 they say I still owe them $15. If I ever get free of these crooks, I'll never do business with them again.

Not surprised of this, as they operate on 'Assumptive Sales'.

So, :disgust:the onerous is placed on the consumer.
I have 3 lifetime subscribtions with them.

There are different 'platforms' for some of their radios
and that creates a cost difference between what ever subscription
they sell for a particular platform. I do not know why.
My Sirius radio subscription was more expensive than in my XM radio cars.
If they do not have your credit card number and no permission of extending subscription,
then they have no case.

'Assumptive Sales' are now being used by the Magazine companies to continue your subscription
without your permission.
You need to speak to an account manger.
Most of the time you will be speaking to a sales rep. or customer service rep
and they do not have the ability to make changes to your account number/status.

It takes awhile to get hooked up to the right department,
but you can get what you want by being a "reasonable pain in the ass".

It was a pain in the butt :whymewhyme: to get what I wanted with their 'phone:uhoh2: tag' system.

Interesting---I have had noting but great service on several past vehicles. Running 4 now with it and could not do without it. Long drives to the ranch are much easier plus get to watch the radar for hail!!!

Had to drive to Midland to negotiate with one of the oil companies who screwed up our land last Thursday and realized that the GT500 had no Sirius. Made a call and within 5 minutes of dialing was back to watching for cops!

My experience with them has always been hours on the phone and sitting in my truck waiting for a signal to set up the radio. My problem wasn't with the radio subscription but trying to activate the Travel link and the Traffic link. They managed to get the Travel link to work (4th call) but never could get the Traffic link to work (6 calls). I dropped the radio (3 calls to get it right) because I didn't find it worth listening to since I rarely leave town and have a wide variety on the local stations. Travel link is needed to dodge the hail and snow storms around here. Traffic link would have been nice for the traffic alerts but I will just have to rely on local radio reports.
