cancel you card you used to pay them with, that way they cant continually charge you anymore

I did that last year, that's why they sent me a bill through the mail. Good thing, too. Here's what it has taken to finally cancel my SiriusXM account:

-I received a bill for $166.94 on 22 July 2012. Last year's bill was $143.49, and no explanation was given. I sent a cancellation notice to them the very next day. As the bill was due on 27 July, they only gave me 5 calendar days to respond, but I certainly did so.

- I received a second bill for $166.94 on 30 July, this time with a due date of 5 August. I immediately responded on 31 July with CANCEL written all over my bill. I also called their "Listener Care" line. After wading through the phone tree I finally got to speak with a Listener Care Representative with a distinctly foreign accent. When she learned that I was trying to cancel my account, she demonstrated that she was actually with Listener Don't Care and hung up on me. No kidding.

- I immediately called back, found myself talking with a different (but still foreign) Listener Care Representative. She told me that my account had been credited and that I had a zero balance. Done deal.

- No such luck. On 10 August I received a past due notice. I responded the next day with a letter recounting the entire history above, made it abundently clear in bold letters to cancel my account, threatened to take their next notice to the US Postmaster and file a complaint of harassment, and demanded correspondence confirming the cancelation of my account.

- They responded on 20 August with a bill for $14.95 due 24 August. This bill showed that they had credited my account for $152.00 and that the $14.95 was due. Since I sent my first cancellation notice to them before it was due, I didn't owe anything. But there it was: $14.95.

- I called their Listener Care line on 21 August, waded throught the phone tree again, and finally talked to another Listener Care Representative with a foreign accent. She assured me that my account had a zero balance. I asked for that a statement showing a zero balance be mailed to me. She put me on hold to talk to an Account Manager. When she came back on the line she told me that they couldn't send a statement on an account with a zero balance. Amazing. But, she said, I could go to www.seriousxm.com, pull up my account, and print the zero balance due that way. OK, fine.

- Not fine. The SiriusXm web site would not recognize my radio ESN, evidently because my account was closed. I called Listener Care, again asked for a statement, again was put on hold, and the Listener Care Representative never came back on the line.

- In order to finally get a statement showing a zero balance, I had to establish a NEW ACCOUNT with my old radio ESN. That worked. I was able to pull up a statement showing a current balance of zero and print it.

I will never do business with these shit eating bastards again.

Yup. I cancelled my credit card, and got a new one. Mainly because they cant tell me which radios are still active on my account, and I pay for like 10 different cars. Some of them are for my parents, and not able to travel to their house and go through all their cars to see what is on, whats not, I dont want to pay for service on cars not owned anymore.

So, I will ignore the bills.....Im good at that.

Post Script: Sirius called me and offered a deal: $24.95 for six months, and then full price for the second six months. I've run the experiment and it took me a full month, 2 cancelation notices, 2 letters, and 5 phone calls to disentangle myself from that nest of schysters. I don't need to run the same experiment again.

FYI - if you have an Amex card you can put "merchant blocks" on your account preventing unscrupulous merchants (SiriusXM) from charging your card. This saves you the trouble of having to cancel the entire account and get a new card.

Serious said they would not accept my credit card because it is set up this way.
My subscription ended and my daughter is not to happy because she likes The Coffee House. What to do?

OK
I enjoyed having Sirius but their horrible customer service and underhanded billing procedures convinced me to finally sever all ties with them.

******** sent my account debit to a collection agency when I refused to renew for another subscription. I naively thought I would sign up for a year and they would shut it off after my subscription ran out. Nope.
