Along with all the permits and such, another thing I would HIGHLY encourage would be an amber dust light facing to the rear of the truck. There was a significant amount of dust last year (my interior is still filthy) and the trucks that didn't have one were getting a little hard to see.
Do they make a temporary rear facing light that can be powered of the trailer plug in?
Let me know as I'm sure if it isn't too high cost a lot of people would want to get one so they don't get rear ended on a trail.
Yea I'm pricing out materials now. Main cost will be the choice of amber cube light. But I'm thinking it will all be prewired, mount it and plug and play, with a switch built in. Simple.
Ok, so ive made a little bit of progress on pricing and design....
I am going to narrow down the choice of light to 2 as a feel these will be the best options and will provide 2 price points to help meet peoples budgets.
Choice of lights will be one:
1. Baja Designs Squadron
PRO (msrp $239) flush mount, amber, driving/combo beam, 4,300 lumens
2. Baja Designs Squadron
SPORT (msrp $129) flush mount, amber, driving/combo beam, 1800 lumens
The rest of the cost will be down to wiring harness, mount materials, and labor (trying to keep labor cost down by keeping to 1 light "design").
Design will include insanely easy (-30 seconds) and clean mounting (will look good being flush mounted) and plug and play capabilities, that will automatically turn on/off with the truck (and will also have a built in switch to manually turn off/on). This is designed specifically for the ones here that dont want to wire in a full lighting setup, and/or have no need for a full lighting package, a.k.a. weekend warrior, or even swapped to another vehicle....
Will also include a free "clear" lens for use as a work light.
Approx final costs for each version:
PRO version: $400-450
SPORT version $300-350
Let me know what you guys think. If theres enough interest i can definitly work on the pricing, but at least this will give everyone an idea on cost.
