Doesn't the in-channel shades not seal very well.
Isn't it the glass against the plastic?
Or is there some kind of seal built in?
Sorry, by 'seal', I meant 'watertight'. When a deflector fits inside the window opening, then water sheds over it. Just like shingles on your roof, they run on the overlap concept. Stick on ones only rely on the tape for a seal, and the tape is usually cut into pieces to fit the contour of the window.
Yup - the glass is against the plastic when closed. It's still as air tight as stock was, because of the pressure on the inner window trim.
They use the same two sided 3M tape, but it sticks to the inside of the outer window trim.
