So, the back half is done. New tires, wheels, brakes, (calipers, pads, rotors & hoses), bed is back on & secured. The electrical connectors were all cleaned or repaired. The wire insulation checked or replaced. Bed stiffeners are done, spare tire mounted with a Y-strap, Newline prerunner bumper, dovetail cut, KHC replacement upper shock mounts welded on, the Gen 2 Fox 3.0's have Schraders, the diff cover was replaced.
Oh, and DJT is my President! Today was a good day up here in the Hi Dez.
Does anybody know if a 2011 SCREW version should have both the tailgate step as well as the vertical post? Mine seems to be original, but there was nothing under the plastic liner piece. Also, what's with the missing bracket there? My 2012 3.5 ecoboost version doesn't have any bracket there, just a full length steel panel.

That's what I thought, but the Raptor badge seems original. I also noticed the tailgate isn't wired for a camera, either. And I still can't figure out what's missing. Does the
"midget stripper pole" attach where the missing bracket should be?

It just so happens that I brought one to the job site the other day thinking of using it for a different, other than tailgate, application. I can send you a picture tomorrow, if you are interested

wonder if it isnt the original tailgate. from 2012 and down, you could order al a carte items for the truck. but the midget stripper pole and tailgate step were one item. you could order just that, and not a backup camera.

I'll dig up the original window sticker and post it Iater. Maybe that will help figure it out.
I've had the "midget stipper pole" in my shop for years doing nothing, I'm happy to pass it along to you if you're interested, you pay the postage and it's yours

P-side shock bucket, pre-surgery. Looks like this side gets welded on instead of messing with trying to drill sideways. The holes they predrilled in the new buckets (that won't clear aftermarket boxed steel UCA's at full droop), will be used for a rosette weld instead.
"work smarter, not harder".

Well, it's trimmed, and the new bucket is stuffed in there. They left a window to reach that spark plug, (but I hope I never need to put another one in there). To their credit, the KHC buckets leave clearance to the engine block on both sides, and allow the motor to "flex" without it smashing into the bucket.Lots of grinding the inside of the original buckets necessary to get the new ones inside, but once it's cleaned up & ready to weld, there's plenty of metal to get wire on.

BTW, there's lots of room for getting a wrench on the D-side. The Gen 2 guys claim it a tight fit getting the 3 nuts off their buckets.... must be all the turbo stuff getting in the way, it's not an issue on a Gen 1truck.20241114_124646.jpg
