People buy trucks then dump 15 grand into haphazardly engineered after market parts, stereo equipment, tires, wheels, lights, exhausts, you name it. It sounds like you are just struggling with the principal of paying over sticker. Again. If it’s worth it to you, go for it.

I know someone that bought a 50K truck, dropped 15 grand into mods only to sell it for 35K a couple years later.
I’m not sure I would classify a lot those mods as haphazard. Or do you just not prefer aftermarket items in general?

if you want to go for it. I would say if it was a 21 and the original sticker was lower than it is now it would be easier to swallow. you would have gained back about $4,500. based on the new price. I know I priced out a 22' now and compared to when I got the 21' mid January. there has been a 300 increase 880 increase now a 3300 increase. I am glad I didn't wait for the 22'. I saved all that by getting it then. as far as I am concerned I paid over msrp but with that savings and the fact I got more now for the vehicle I sold. I am actually better off than if I waited.

considering its a 22 with I assume with all the price increase too. its a tough. only you can decide but since your asking it definitely is a tough decision for you.

and that was a good point of all mods people put on and never get back the money.

I was just using that as an example of how people waste money on other truck related items so at the end of the day, regardless of ADM or mods that dont make your truck worth more, you are still burning money.

I dont want to think about how much I have spent over the years on lifts, exhausts that don't really make the truck worth any more.

As for car stereo stuff, heck yeah. I have a basement full of old stuff I pulled out :). That is one instance where you can recoup your money relatively easy.

The OP is concerned about resale. What the cost is has no determination on resale value. That is set by the market. If I was planning to resale in two years I would want the lowest possible purchase price

Fair enough, but I don’t imagine you bought the lift and exhaust for resale though right?

Keep in mind my truck is a 2014 and I use it differently than a lot of others so take my opinion for what it is worth.

Once the Raptor R is out, the big payers will shift attention away from the v6 Raptors.. prices will go down and people paying high ADMs on the v6 will loose money.. just my POV

Because the TRX has done exactly that, right?

The Raptor R, were it to be produced, which is in significant doubt, would eat into TRX sales more than it would the Jen Tres V6TT sales.

I honestly couldn’t believe the pricing on the ‘21s given the TRX and honestly I’m surprised at the demand but, I do understand it.
