Should I Buy?? - 2013 Raptor, 373K Miles for $8,000???

At 373K miles, I'd listen for an exhaust leak, valve train noise, and any motor mount issues. All 3 of those are Big Fun to repair.

I recently replaced a motor in my Gen 1 that had been badly abused (PO didn't change the oil for >60k miles). Total cost was about $8k, which included a remanufactured 6.2 longblock for an e350 that I found on Marketplace, a bunch of calls to Ford Performance to verify it's actually the same motor (Answer: heads & cams have different part numbers vs. the 'Raptor' versions but they are actually the same specs) and a private mechanic who swapped it at his house over a couple months. In your case, $8k for the truck + an additional say, $10k for a motor. Add in new shocks and whatever else it needs, you'd be in it for $20k-ish. For that money you could buy a fresher version without the hassle. Up to you for what sort of a project you want to take on. In the end, nearly anything can be fixed or replaced of course.

Hard to give a definitive answer without seeing a bunch of pictures. Based on the info provided alone, I'd say no. The appeal of the low entry price is a trap as you will likely need to spend $10k+ to make it great again, maybe more. How much do you have set aside for the fix-it budget? I've bought a money pit before, they suck.

So.... you vote a definite... maybe.

But the time factor is inescapable. A Raptor in the garage is worth 2 in the junkyard, or something like that.

Everytime I see a BaT auction with Paint Meter Readings on it, I gotta admit that seems silly for a pickup truck designed to be taken offroad. They've never experienced the "Barstow Pinstripe" phenomenon?
