Buy and fly. I got mine in Idaho, dealer picked me up at the airport took me to dinner put me up in a hotel picked me up next morning did the paper work and I was on the road in 45 mins. Had a blast driving 1000 miles home to Cali in my new joy to drive. Really glad I did.

I’ve had good luck with Lucky Star Auto Transport. Zoly is the owner/operator so no need to deal with brokers. His number is 408-771-5623 (based out of San Jose). He moved several cars for me cross country including my raptor without a scratch.

More recently I used Golden Key to ship a BAT sale from NorCal to Boston without a scratch. Harold is the owner and his cell is 559-289-7801 (based out of Tracy). Harold actually used to employ Zoly and I found both of them top notch

Harold may be better option because he usually heads down to LA before heading out east vs Zoly who cuts across I80

Note that any reputable transporter will be busy right now since this is the high season but worth a shot giving either a call.

Hope that helps

Thank you everyone that has replied. I am really looking forward to getting my new white raptor and would love to fly out and drive it back. Unfortunately, work doesn’t allow me to take off long enough to drive the 2000 mile trek back. It would be an amazing road trip though!!!
For those that used an open carrier did you have any issues when you received your truck as far as scratches, rock chips, etc..
It’s unfortunate that I have to shop around the country for a good deal since every dealer in California seems to add a ridiculous markup above sticker.

Regarding rock chips. I asked the dealer to leave the protective tape on. Dealer was happy they didn’t need to detail

There are many in SoCal now selling at MSRP, but you can get a deep discount out of state

No Rock chips at all. They are elevated and it seems most rock chips are low on the hood of your vehicle when on the ground. During transport your truck is either behind the cab of the transport or 10 foot above And does not seem likely.
