Just a couple points I'll make and then expect getting flamed....
1. It's basically the same kind of setup as Henessey's VelociRaptor, only cheaper with a couple of slight differences. Most of us wouldn't dare let Henessey touch our trucks, so in my opinion, it's at least an alternative to that.
2. A few ponder why a sc, exhaust, wheels and tires, interior and graphics package? Why not something closer to a trophy truck setup or a true runner. But think about this for a moment- how many of those do you see out there? I have seen the Outlaw truck and SPRSNK and that's it. So while everyone "talks" about how that would have been a better package, there are already shops that specialize in that with much more experience and knowledge. Also, the guys that pull the trigger on that kind of package would be less than a dozen.
3. The market is those of us who own a raptor and drive it daily, or at least often. I enjoy driving my raptor everyday and on the road just as much as I like it offroad. I'm not a diehard desert guy, and neither are 98% of all raptor owners. Does it make a good business model to cater to 10000 raptors? Or should they target 200? Also, it's the same thing with the GT500. I love it because its a mustang, not a race car. Sure, I could go out and dump 150k making a GT500 a great track car, but wouldn't I be better off buying a Boss 302S or a Miller cup car for half the money? The same logic goes for the Raptor- it's a truck, an F150 with great stock offroad capabilities...but If I'm gonna be racing across the baja, it's gonna be in a purpose built custom baja racer trophy truck...not a raptor.
4. Look at every Shelby build across the board- every single build focuses on sc, exhaust, interior, and graphics. That's the business model for Shelby, and whether it works as well as it should or not is not the point. It's what they know, and the easiest market for them to reach. If you are a gt500 owner, how cool is it to haul your Shelby with a Shelby? And there are a great many Shelby guys who own both. It fits.
Bottom line is this- I realize that Shelby didn't hit a home run with this, but I'm glad for it because it shows Ford that the Raptor is worth the effort and has the attention of aftermarket modding that cannot be overlooked. I equate it to the camaro- I ******* hate that car. But, if it makes Ford or someone else continue to improve and develop better alternatives, we win.

I should add that I am the regional director for Team Shelby, so I'm a homer, and I'm gonna defend them. It's the honorable thing and right thing for me to do. Disclaimer noted
FYI- although the package shows available for 2013-2014, it is available for ALL years as long as it has a 6.2L. 2011and up.
