If any of you guys who are complaining about the price own an Apple product then you can stop complaining now You already own a product that can be done a bunch of different ways more cheaply but probably liked that shiny Apple logo.
$18k is a chunk of change for sure, but DubbsFaris does have a good point - a lot of us spend more time in the Raptor as a daily driver versus offroading. The Shelby name (in my mind) and offroading don't mix.
And finally - those of you comparing costs - are you talking about just the parts or are you including the costs to install, warrant and ship the parts? I haven't read the fine print, but I assume Shelby now takes care of your warranty which they will need to build into the selling price.
I'm not saying it is a great deal - I can show you a bunch of cheaper phones than an iPhone or iPad that I think are as good or better - but sometimes people like certain packages or like that they are dealing with a single reputable company to put all this stuff together.
[SARCASM]You got me. I totally bought both my iPhone and Macbook Pro with Retina Display and then spent an extra 36% on each of them for some colorful stickers and more RAM.[/SARCASM]
Shelby added straight line performance and appearance changes to a vehicle who's main claim to fame is increased offroad capability. I don't find it surprising at all that many on an "enthusiast" forum disagree with Shelby's approach at all. I also think it's funny how there's a need to defend Shelby against personal opinion. A big brand name asking more $$ for less than what other smaller competitors have accomplished doesn't always automatically make everyone laud what they've done. In then end, there's always someone willing to pay for the Shelby name and whatever comes with it. Shelby wouldn't waste their time otherwise.
