Retailers in general are the most worthless people on the planet. Their entire job is to create inflation. They don't make anything. They don't service anything. They buy at wholesale and inflate the price as much as they can based on what the market will allow. Cut out the middle man to decrease prices for consumers, making a product more accessible. THAT would be capitalism.

Ford did change their sales model. If a dealership does not sell an order to the person who ordered it they lose allocations and can lose Franchise tag. They also upped the percentage you have to maintain based off orders
Can you be a little more specific? Does this apply to those who walk away from their orders or just to when someone signs an order and then the dealership decides on their own to sell it to someone else? Or both?

Both, thats why dealerships take deposits to try and incentivize you not to walk away

Interesting. I can see someone using that leverage to agree to a adm and then threaten to walk once it comes in if they don't get it for msrp knowing that it will harm the dealer.

That would be the ideal. I have a bronco sport that just came in on order, now the lady isnt answering. So we have to wait, if we sell to someone else we take a hit even though she wont answer

Well that didn’t last long…… I live in California so prices are rough. But when I bought my first Raptor in 2018 I only paid $1,000 ADM and at that time I asked to be put on a V-8 raptor list…. Dealer was gonna honor that same deal when the time came…. Literally ordered it on Monday assumed nothing had changed. He just sent me my paperwork and sure enough, $20,000 ADM….. unreal. I’m a farmer and have bought multiple vehicles from this dealer and now this crap? I’m from a small farm town too as is the dealer. Pretty heated as this was my only chance to get an R with no ADM, can’t afford it otherwise. Already at the top of my budget…. Let me know if you come across MSRP please.. DM me thanks.
you seriously thought a 4 year old handshake deal was going to hold on the hottest car / truck since the corvette c8 or ford GT. Californians are smoking some crazy stuff.

Not after next year the 24's will be it.
If this is true, I'll probably buy a '24 and it will be my last Ford. Maybe once I'm too old to go off road any more and the cost to own ICE gets stupid high or it gets really inconvenient, I'll go electric. Dunno. I think the move to EV is oversold and FMC will get caught with their pants down. We'll see. Go woke, go broke. Or as a very smart man once said "Everything woke turns to shit.".
