First time driving my 2011 6.2 further than in and out of the garage this year.
Moved it around the driveway as I packed for the gym, Auto Zone, grocery store, hardware...
No Starbucks, not a coffee drinker.
Started, stopped, and re-started maybe a dozen times before pulling into the power wash car wash.
Truck was covered in dust and pollen.
Shut it off as I rinsed the crust off.
Opened the gas fill quick as I saw some mud from last year still poking out.
Careful not to direct the wand into the fill neck thinking that would be bad, and I was planning to top the tank off with fresh fuel next stop.
2-3 minutes rinsing off and hop back in.
Turn key and seems like swithc hangs or sticks, and cranks like crazy (battery is a week or two old).
BUT...
no firing.
Not running.
Starting to have thoughts of how I have to push out of the wash bay and call wife for ride.
Look and my OBDII scanner is in the winter beater still.
Puzzled.
2 or 3 more tries.
'Almost seemed like a "security" deal or something.
Opening the fuel fill w/o truck on, doors not locked, I dunno.
Wondered if the wonderful fuse 27 had just bit me.
(Have not got to that on the list yet-SOON !!! )
But also seemed like something other than no fuel.
No a single fire, like crank but no ignition.
Tried locking unlocking doors.
Tried starting with the key fob remote-lock, start X2.
It just cranked no fire.
Popped the hood, opened the fuse box, wiggled a few things, all looked OK.
Looked at 27, seemed OK.
Still dunno, puzzled.
Hop back in and ALL is good !!
Went to get gas - started after.
Groceries - started after.
Auto Zone for oil pressure sender for my OJ Bronco (will post another question here and at FTE about that-whole 'nother story).
And has been doing OK since.
Wondered if any of this sounds familiar?
The beginning of fuse 27 troubles?
Did I do something out of sequence possibly that caused a security theft issue?
Appreciate anyone's ideas or suggestions?
Kind of scary as I am planning on going back to daily driving chores for the Raptor now...
BIG THANKS

Hope everyone is enjoying their summers.
It finally hit here, near 90 ! ! ! And SUNSHINE !!

When i disconnect and reconnect the battery my truck will crank excessively the first time but generally fires up after a few seconds. I'd check your battery leads and make sure they're clean and tight.

I'll check the terminals on the battery again just to be sure, But I do have a cleaner brush, cleaned those and cable ends and I coat with white lithium grease after.

Sorry, private property here on the lake, NO HOA worries:)
If the neighbors complain about anything, it just gets worse and louder here at my house, they have all learned; nearing 32 years in my house.

Just opened fuse box and watched Youtube to see exactly what I need to do for the Fuse 27 fix.
Pulled the original #27, one leg discolored brownish.
Didn't see melted stuff, but imagine heat not rust or anything like that causing it.
Will get on this NOW
Was thinking I would use a REAL heavy duty fuse holder and just leave it outside the box, but...
Going to order "kit" tomorrow and install once it gets here.
I am sure that I have been pressing my luck.
Using the #70 and having it all underneath and labeled would be better idea than me trying to go overboard and have enough energy to run an arc welder taped next to the fuse box.

Still not entirely sure if that is what scared me earlier, first start after playing and unhooking battery acted like earlier for split second.
BUT sure the fuse fix is needed.
