S8 Install in 2024 Modular Bumper Lower Grill

@hamster thanks for the info. I really like the onx6+ over the S8. I wonder if I remove the shudders to free up some space will the onx6+ fit and resolve the depth issue.

Either way, I kind of want to cut the two bars that block the light bar if possible. Not sure if they need to be there. I haven’t taken a part the bumper yet.

I had ONX6 in my '17 and ONX6+ in my '20....they are nice. Coupled with my other lights it lit up the night. But this time going little different route as don't offroad as much anymore. Going to add dual S8 in factory amber behind the grill in driving pattern (just ordered from SPV while on sale). If need more white light, then will change lower bumper grill to white. Basically adding and adjusting....which is one reason why I like the BD lights and flexibility of the @Specialtyperformanceparts harnesses.

As for bars, I am with you on that one. Working on modifying right now. Not simple. About 1/2 done. When all done I will post details of how I did it.

I would like to run the onx6+ in the center bumper slot if @Specialtyperformanceparts thinks it could work.

You can. We just try to offer people the least invasive way to do things.

In fact, you can instead just leave the center section with the 2 bars OUT. It doesnt HAVE to be reinstalled. The end caps can go back on without the section with the 2 bars. Most would probably not know it was ever there.

In that case, you can do our brackets and a ONY6 and plug n play harness.

Correct. You would just bring the bar forward a little because there would be no bars or grille in the way.

Here you go. I just took these quick photos with a Rigid SR bar I already had on a set of the brackets with the center piece removed (the 2 bars) and the end caps on.

So with the ONX6, you can just bring the whole bar forward to clear the rear and, it wouldn’t stick out even as far as the bumper even still.

So it’s hardly noticeable about the tiny trim strip not there on the top and the bottom anyway.

I did not like the bars and did not like looks leaving trim off on modular bumper. Agree most people would not notice, but I would.

But since you have the standard bumper, I think it would look maybe ok. Pull it off and see what you think.....easy to remove.

Yeah, if you don't have the bars and are very careful cutting straight lines and filing edges so they don't look cut off. But if its a 24, even the standard bumper has a version with the bars I believe. The 21-23 had the honeycomb? Unless I am wrong. The bumper is basically the same standard bumper from 21+, but painted different and the center trim changed.

Even if you do have the bars, You could do the same.
