Has anyone else had any of this happening on their bumper? Literally the same spot on both sides almost under that rubber part. I was washing truck yesterday and noticed it and just went and looked on other side and saw it there as well. Truck is 1 year old and 22k on it. Was seeing what others had before I tried to go to Ford and see what they would say.

Thanks for starting this thread. I knew right away that what you had was a rub mark, I've seen it too often on my boats and bikes, they are very prone to that crap. But I had no idea what your rub was coming from though. Went out and checked mine today, passenger side was pretty good alignment, drivers side was very poor. It would have done just what yours did after I had put some miles on it. I'd much rather fix it now and not need paint repair.

I readjusted both sides and popped the end fastener off the rubber piece on both sides and trimmed about 1/4" off both sides for good measure. It looks no different after you trim the rubber, it doesn't really align with anything anyway. If anything it looks better slightly shorter. If you've never worked on these type fasteners, it's almost like a flat head screw that pops into a tube. They make a tool for this, but in our case since you can get at the back of it you can just stick a small flat head screw driver on the back side and push the tip of the inserted part down. It will unlock and you can grab it with a small needlenose if you can't get it with your fingers, and pull it out. It looks like pic below to give you an idea of what you're working with. They use fasteners similar to these on bike panels frequently. It's kind of like a molly bolt works.

Just went out to my truck and there are 3 - 13mm screws and 2 -8mm screws attaching these end pieces. I loosened the screws slightly and was able to pull them out to the proper position so the rubber is on the film. So if it hasn't worn out the paint yet, you can reposition these pretty easily. If you need more adjustment you can loosen the 3 - 21mm bolts holding each side of the bumper to the frame.
Yup it’s as easy as that. Funny how many from the factory are misaligned

Glad that everyone is getting theirs fixed before it starts happening, not a huge deal because they are fixing it but just still an annoyance that now it needs to go in and get repainted. I'll see if they are gonna put something down on top to prevent it from happening again or I'll take a look at your guys fixes and do it myself.

My rust spot is also on the passenger side of my ‘19 but appears to be from road debris. Glad I saw these posts. I will be calling the dealer tomorrow.

I noticed the potential of this when I bought the truck, but I haven’t put any additional clear strips in there yet.

I got a tiny spot on the PS. If the bumper gets worse, I'll get it LineXed. Or upgrade the bumper.
