Hey J, With the UCA how was alignment for the front end? Did you need the cam kit or did the UCA take care of that? I remember reading that your alignment wasn't knocked out after hard offroading and why do you thing that is?

I'm wanting to go to the top perch when the new "caps" come in and sounds like I will need the cam kits with stock UCA but if the new UCA fix the problem and no cam kit is needed then I might be going down that road. Thanks again for the great write up.

As I understand it (and I am by no means an expert), the kind of alignment issues we're talking about here are caused by knocking the tie rods around. I'm not sure, but I think some problems come from hard hits that bend or even just slightly tweak the rods. I know I hit stuff hard enough to bend the stock parts, but apparently not hard enough to bend the RPG parts. Unfortunately, I've 'heard' that several of the trucks on the RE trip weren't so lucky and came away with alignment issues.

I hve a question! with the rpg tie rods do you have to run the stock boots? I think it looks much more clean without :waytogo:

So if I run stock UCA on the 3rd perch with RPG tie rods no cam kit needed? And yes YOU are costing me money :ROFLJest: But I really didn't know the stock tie rods were that small under the boots! Kinda alarming to me

It all depends on the truck... All trucks are not exactly the same... If its on one end of the caster/camber alignment spec the spring mod might move out and it might not be able to be pulled in to spec... If it were me I would have the kit available to be installed...

OK, but worst case is I can put the kit on afterwords right? The reason I ask so many questions is down to only one rig and really don't want something messing up and then stuck waiting on parts with no wheels.

Yes... and if its caster thats out and camber is ok it wont wear out the tires prematurely... If its camber it will... I would get it on asap ifs its camber... caster will cause a pull to one side..
