Side note, I'm also trying to design a turning brake for this truck. In another thread, someone was experimenting with activating the rear electric parking brakes independently, which should reproduce the "trail turn" feature. I'm still in the R&D phase of that project, but chime in if you know anything!

given that you are this far into the truck, why not add a second rear caliper with a separate master cylinder to be controlled by the “hoon handle”?

I think at this point, you're probably right. A completely independent system that doesn't F with any of the factory stuff. The hoon handle is already installed, just need a little master cylinder and secondary calipers.

I would personally prefer that myself/plan to work that in one day myself.

I think maybe the only issue that may arise could be that the whatever traction control that is on might get confused by the rear wheels locking up.

Just thinking out loud here, I may be off base.

Yeah.

I wonder if you could make it so it was not operable until you turned traction control off.

That was the suspicion in the other thread. A lot of electronics in these trucks! Hopefully turning off the TC would allow the feature to work correctly. I don't know how to test this beyond just building the hardware and then seeing what the software thinks...

What, you don't like how the duct tape matches the Steel-It? :D
Appreciate the link, I'll have to pick one of those up.

Truck is "done" but doesn't run right. Tracked it down to the throttle body that must been fried with all the welding. I had a new one mailed out to them so hopefully that'll get this thing wrapped up. Few new pics:

New pads, rotors etc are still a shit upgrade, ask me how I know :p Floating calipers are garbage sadly, that is what we have stock. Here is some real world data of the alcon brakes (front and rear) vs stock.

from here, courtesy of Nick.

Wow, those Alcon distances are shockingly good for a vehicle of this size and weight.

I don't think the abs would be a factor as long as the brake lights aren't on..

I have a buddy with 4 rear calipers and hoon handle and haven't heard anything about abs intrusion
