Great research Falcon. I have a strange feeling I may need this in the future.

Although I wonder how many CHP or any LEO would really notice the Rigid LED lights as they are still unconventional looking.

I have 4 HIDs on the front bumper and there is no arguing that these are auxiliary driving lights (I tried each of the 2 times I've gotten tickets) and I'm sure LEDs are the same. The LEDs are a lot less flashy so there may not be any issue at all?? I would usually fight the system on stuff like this but it's not worth it to me to give an officer a reason to pull me over. Just get some sort of black cover and they won't think anything of it.

I hear what you are saying guys, I am just too much of a conservative not to stand up and bark at stupid laws, or worse yet stupid LEOs trying to interpret laws the way THEY see fit. (sorry LEO's on the board, but you know it's true <G>) You say you tried 2 times Brian... does this mean you lost two times? If so, I would keep a laminated copy of the Superior Court ruling in my glove box and stick it in the butt of the first LEO that pulled me over. Well, just wave it in his face. OK... OK... show it to him with a uber respectful "But Officer" attitude and then see him in court. <G>

I had a ticket still in posession from an earlier instance and he told me it's at his discretion if he was going to write me up again...and he did. Kind of pissed me off...but whatever. I paid one ($25.00) and in the process of fighting the 2nd. The law is clear in CA that if you have offroad lights they need to be covered...and I have offroad lights so I will keep em covered.

I've got four huge KC HID's on Ford's lightbar and I run around Los Angeles/etc and have not been pulled over or hassled at all.

To be honest the first time I installed them, I went around that night and lit up two cops by accident. Didn't get bothered at all.

That California supreme court case I read and digested before (months ago) I plunked down the cash for these expensive illumination devices. I want to make sure that if a police officer pulls me over and uses the lights as an excuse I know my rights.

So far so good.
