Unfortunately the 6.2 is pretty much a dead project....it will only live as the v8 in the Super Duty so I could highly see a Eco Coyote being possible with a few different flavor's for different vehicles. With the results the mustang guys have been having on boosted Coyote's it would be super sweet to see an EcoBoost factory version built for boost and ready to go!

Ford is for sure continuing the raptor. The owner of the dealership I bought from (Team Ford in Vegas) is a well-known offroad racer and is involved with designing the raptors. He told me it's a for sure, that they basically have a new franchise with the raptor and to expect it just to get better and better.

I too would prefer a n/a motor. And I also kind of hope they increase the price, make them better out of the factory, and limit production.

Steve is a Really Good GUY ! Used to deal with him only until we moved to Texas . I still sport my Team Ford Race shirt when i go to Raptor events

I'll tell you another direction a gen 2 Raptor is going and that is price as in way up. SRT did it to us on the Jeep. First gen was badass and reasonably priced. SRT knew they had the market so when the 2nd gen came out, BAM, the price was $65K plus. Their argument is where else are you going to get this package for anywhere under $100K? Equal AMG, BMW, & Porsche performance SUVs are all above that. People said no one would buy a Jeep close to $70K but of course they are. With the Raptor you don't even have a true competitor factory stock. We're now in a world with $75K Camaros (Z28) and I expect the Raptor to get up there.

This is a valid point. I about shit when I saw the pricing on the new srt8 jeep. No way in hell I'd pay that much for what it is. Same with the raptor. As much as I may love it. They'd leave a huge market potential in the dust. How many of the new jeeps so you see? Not many people can afford a $50k vehicle. Let alone $70k+

I can slap a whipple with a decent warranty on a base model now for 50k at invoice and installation. That's a lot more than 500 hp when done. It would be nice to have a more factory powerful raptor but not at a huge price leap like where im sure it would end up

Ill edit myself. **** this. They can squeeze more mpg and power out of the 6.2. Don't **** up a good thing ford

I love threads when people post what their local dealer told them. So reliable.

I'll speculate along with everyone else. If a Coke can (aluminum) Raptor comes out, it will have a smaller, less powerful engine than the current gen. As much fun as it would be, the only reason they are going to a lighter aluminum body is to save gas. A twin turbo V8 is going to completely defeat that purpose.

It's just speculation though. 700 pounds less and more horsepower sounds great, but when has that really happened?

I'll let y'all know when I see one rollin around Detroit with manufactures plates. Heck, I might just buy a nice digital camera to keep with me in the rig. There's plenty of stuff to see rollin around the D.

When , in the past decade , has a svt mustang come out with less performance that the model prior ???? I don't see the raptor becoming a standard f150 with fender flares anytime soon.
