If money is no problem, look into ProAm this is common on trophy trucks 3500.00-4500.00 plus you'll need to rework your mounting and custom tie rods

I talked with rock auto they don't have any racks in stock so my truck would be down 2ish weeks while I send them my rack to refurbish and I can't have that so I may have to just buy new rack from ford and next time it happens I can spend 300 to get it refurbished and swap out with my extra one... 3500 is a little steep haha I have been trying to save for icon setup but that's going in reverse right now

Someone needs to come out with something ...

Had my rack done at dealer last summer- lasted one run at rc and had slop in it- all on driverside like usual. Dealer ones are remaned just like the ones you get from cardone. Rock auto, autozone and advance auto can get them.

I get the impression that the remanufactured racks, including the ones from ford aren't having the output bushing replaced, or the rack itself is worn.
I haven't had one last very long yet, and they seem to be sloppy out of the box.

I can agree with that. Had one replaced right before havoc. Was toast on the way back. Same bushing on drivers outer end.

Is there an obvious way to tell if your rack is *****?

mikey jack up the driver side, take the wheel off and remove the boot for the tie rod.

Grab the spindle assembly and push on it (to actuate the same movement of steering) you will see the drivers side shaft move up and down, instead of in and out.

Mike after my surgery tomorrow I'm going in to figure out my situation with the steering ... If it's my rack and you want to use my old rack to get it refurbished I'll lend it to you ... It'll save you. 600 bones

Just swung thru a buddy's shop this afternoon when I was getting some knocking/pop when I was steering to the right at about 5-10 degrees I feel it when turning at a very low speed or stopped ... He said everything looks good so it might be the rack...

I called ford they can have one in about 4 days and it's about 950 bucks... Effen great that is coming out of my suspension funds :(

Should I just go and order this or is there anything else I should be looking at ? That may be stronger ... I plan on taking more of these kinds of pics thru the summer
