I was originally interested in a single MTI 10” enclosure. Unfortunately you have to cut out the backing on rear of the cab and it looked to be an extremely tight fight. Can you still utilize the factory jack location? It was also mentioned by @dhmcfadin that your woofer will be literally pinned up behind the seat, which is not optimal.

I really wanted to utilize an enclosure like this which worked behind the seat. I stayed away due to these issues and was looking at a single under the rear seat 10, once I abandon the dreaded factory enclosure. If you can speak differently about it, I’d certainly listen.

The MTI single 10/12” enclosure does require trimming, true, but, you can dynamat for sound if needed, and I did it. if I can do it, you can too. hell, I cut the damn backing with a ZT350 serrated blade. You relocate the jack, yes, but you can fit it in the below the seat storage enclosure and strap it down for any potential roll overs.

The improvement in sound, bass depth and punch is well worth it.

They offer a single under the seat option as well but they are not cheap. You could also entertain JL Audio micro sub units that have an enclosure, sub, and amp all in one unit. You just provide power and signal.

Is it worth / possible to replace the factory sub with an 8 inch kicker comp sub. I see it is possible to utilize factory box and connections.

to answer your question....no

The problem is..the more you turn up the volume nob...the less BASS signal your amp and speaker receive. The culpret is in the stock B&O amp...that is where all the bass roll off lives....you can't dial it out without replacing the amp.

The minimum price to get better sound in a B&o truck is around $1,500 and up...if you know how to do it yourself.

Perhaps incorporating an $99 LC2i would solve that bass roll off problem.

I was originally going to get the compact JL Audio under seat sub. But then I had a spark of genius to play around with the factory enclosure. I figured if I could make it sound half way decent and save floor space, why not. Maybe at least use it for a little while.

Well I’m learning the factory enclosure is tough to work with. Lastly I may wrap it. But not ruling out another option soon.
