Mine comes on with remote start, if cold enough out. But you have to return on after you hit the start button. Both seat and wheel.

That's odd my heated seats/wheel come on with auto start and stay on after I get in until I turn them off.

I was casually flipping through my owners manual this morning trying to pass some time at work and noticed a little info regarding the remote start and automatic climate control settings.

"Automatic Settings

In hot weather, the system is set to 72°F
(22°C). The cooled seats are set to high
(if available, and selected to AUTO in the
information display).

In moderate weather, the system either
heats or cools (based on previous
settings). The rear defroster, heated
mirrors and heated seats do not
automatically turn on.

In cold weather, the system is set to 72°F
(22°C). The heated seats are set to high
(if available, and selected to AUTO in the
information display). The rear defroster
and heated mirrors automatically turn on."

I thought this was very nice and I instantly made sure my settings were on "auto". This will sure come in handy when I PCS Germany, the German winters are no joke.

My question is, In cold weather I understand that the heated seats are set to high, the rear defroster and heated mirrors automatically turn on. But, does the heated steering wheel also come on? This wasn't mentioned in the manual. Anyone from the cold states have experience with this?

On my '18, the heated steering wheel is on when it is in heat mode. It gets plenty warm and I turn it off as soon as I get in the truck, but it is nice.

Even the lowly 801 I have the seats are on high when started with Fordpass when its cold, I really wish it wouldn't, I don't need my sack cooked first thing in the morning.

I have an '18 and my seats, steering wheel, and mirrors/rear defroster also heat up when remote started and stay on after I get in and push start. I love this feature!

I'm glad the wheel and seats stay on in the 2018, they don't in my 2017 and it is annoying.

That's actually the first real improvement I've seen. I've heard mixed reviews on the new sound system, and you guys lost the ambient lighting, correct?

I wonder if any of these features are tied into Sync and whether the latest update will make a difference for 17’ owners. I’ve been checking via WiFi for the newer version that I know is out but still showing as not available for my truck.

Yup 18’s are stuck with ice blue for ambient. One feature I noticed with the 17’ is whatever color you have it set at, if you open a door while the vehicle is running, that ambient door color changes to red until it’s fully closed. Was a nice touch by their engineering department.

The B/O is an improvement over the Sony but is by no means a high end system. For my old ears it is just fine. 10 years ago I would make changes.

2018 still has ambient lighting but it is only the ice blue color. No longer multi-color. If you have to have the multi color a simple swap of the LED's to the 2017 LED's and a Forscan change and you have it back.

I believe there is a setting that will keep the heated/cooled seats at the last setting, versus the Auto where it turns on automatically.

There is and there are youtube videos showing that 'feature.'
