I’m averaging 11.7 after 2,000 miles. I don’t see how it’s possible to get 16. That’s nuts.
Those were hero tanks he mentioned. All highway, nice weather etc. He's not averaging 16 overall.

He could have done better without cruise. Cruise control is terrible for MPGs compared to a human brain and foot. It'll jam the gas right as you are about to crest a hill to maintain speed, instead of letting the truck bleed off a few MPH while maintaining the current throttle like a human could do. That's just one example. Adaptive is even worse with how agressively it accelerates back up to the set speed. That's fine sometimes, but nearly always unnecessary.

A full size truck with big tires is going to average between 11 and 14 MPG over tens of thousands of miles of driving in all condtions. The 3 MPG variance is all in the driver.

I just got 11.8 MPG - towing a car from Peoria to Las Vegas and Back.

Tire pressures were 36 all around. Avg speed was 70 MPH. Temps were around 105-107

Towed beautifully and smooth.
