John Clark Gable, the son of actor Clark Gable, was arrested in Malibu on suspicion of DUI at a house near Pacific Coast Highway and Rambla Pacifico after allegedly colliding with seven cars on a hit- and-run spree Tuesday afternoon which ended when he caused a car to collide with a home.

Sheriff’s deputies on the scene told The Malibu Times the incident began near 3 p.m. when Gable rear-ended a white Mercedes-Benz at the intersection of Cross Creek Road and PCH.

“He rear-ended a car and took off like a bat out of hell,” said Sgt. McDonald of the Malibu/Lost Hills station.

Gable, driving a white Ford Raptor pickup truck, continued driving, pursued by the driver of the Mercedes, who called sheriff’s deputies.

Next, Gable allegedly hit six cars, including rear-ending a white passenger van and sideswiping a green Land Rover. Both of those vehicles were parked on the eastbound side of PCH. The crash ended when Gable rammed into the back of a black BMW parked in a driveway in the 21300 block of PCH. The force of the crash pushed the BMW into the garage door of the home. Gable’s truck ended up losing its front left tire and got stuck on the rear end of the BMW. All told, Gable collided with one moving car (the Mercedes) and six parked cars, a press release stated.

Traffic was backed up for several hours on eastbound PCH just west of Rambla Pacifico while deputies and tow truck drivers worked to clear the scene.

Gable was booked at the Malibu/Lost Hills Station for the alleged hit-and-run crash and suspicion of DUI as The Malibu Times went to press Tuesday evening. Before being booked, he was taken to a hospital to have blood drawn.

Gable, 52, is the son of film icon Clark Gable and the former Kay Spreckels (nee Williams), who had formerly been married to Adolph Spreckels, heir to the Spreckels sugar fortune. Gable was born shortly after his father passed away of a heart attack in 1960.

A 2000 article in the Los Angeles Times profiled Gable’s enthusiasm for racing off-road trucks in events such as the Baja 500.

On April 13, 2012, Gable’s girlfriend was found dead in the couple’s home in Malibu.

Christiane Candice Lange, 41, was found unresponsive by Gable after complaining the night before of not feeling well. When he tried to wake her up the next morning, she did not respond. Lange’s death was listed as natural consequences or possibly as a negative result of taking prescription pills.

I just saw Gables truck getting some new RPG stuff, Methods, and 37's installed in Thousand Oaks a few weeks ago. It's a nice (Was nice) truck, kings on it and a lot more.
Maybe now he can get a 6.2 Raptor....
