****'s Mackenzie Ford - Hillsboro, OR - $800 over invoice through Costco program

If not ordering through Costco, ask for Scott Sprout and tell him I referred you.

I did not commit to the order with Scott because I found a better deal. I would have paid more to order from this dealership (because of their excellent customer service), but the delta was too great.

Let me add the deal I worked with in Houston, TX as a place to go for a great deal. Tommy Vaughn Ford (salesman Sam Powell). In my market you cannot find a Raptor for less than 5K-10K over MSRP. Sam hooked me up with a great deal (500-1k over invoice) and were a pleasure to do business with.

I bought mine in April 2013 and now have a buddy headed up there to sign for another. Sam can make a deal with you over text or phone with pics of your trade. Another great feature many dealers in my area wont do.
Tell him Chris sent you--they usually have one or two fully loaded black Raptors on order or on the lot--they dont last long though!

Sam just sent me a text this week--expects 3 2013 tux black Raptors with full lux and nav kits to hit the lot this week. He did me right on my deal--worked tint, spray-in, etc. Houston area

Well, it has been fun getting to know many of you in the Forum. We will be pulling our pricing special, so we (Gloff Ford) will no longer be selling at $500 over invoice. Thank you!

As you know, we initially launched this as a pilot program to see if our orders increased, so our allocation could increase. It has proven to take too long for orders to generate, and therefore, we are not continuing the program.

Thanks to all of you who were able to take advantage of the special discount on Raptors. As of today, 5-28-13, the discount pricing program has ended.

That's the great thing about America, there are other dealers willing to deal, if one dealer won't. Plenty of dealers out here in CA with a lot of high priced Raptors on their lots, but many others who would rather sell a unit than dress up the front of their store. Some stores are in business to sell cars, not show them. And once a customer walks out, he's never coming back. :laughing1:

I think an ordered vehicle is significantly different from a dealer stock unit sitting on a lot.

For an ordered unit, the only question is which dealer will be the middleman between Ford and the customer. The customer is already determined, the vehicle and options are determined, etc. the customer just has to see who gives him the best deal (which may or may not be the lowest price, but often is). The truck will not be sitting on the lot, and the amount of work & expense to make this type of sale should be much less.

A truck sitting on a lot is a totally different animal. The vehicle and options are determined, now the question is who the customer will be. There is somebody who'll come along who wants a truck right now & isn't willing to wait a few months, and is subsequently willing to pay MSRP. The dealer probably shouldn't come a lot off MSRP on a dealer stock unit.

A dealer unwilling to make a good deal on one being ordered is foolish, IMO. Just as there is somebody willing to pay MSRP for the truck on the lot now, there are a number of dealers willing to make a little less to get this sale that they otherwise would not. Somebody is willing to be the middleman between Ford and a customer who knows what he wants.
