Insurance added. I won’t worry about the truck and will have more fun. Piece of mind. When you fly to Utah, get a rental car, and a hotel what’s another 85 bucks. Can’t wait.

This will be my 2nd Assault - going June 7-8. I got to go last May, and get to attend again since I traded my '17 on a new '18. Didn't purchase the insurance the first time, nor this time. Feel like it is overkill. You'd have to do something really stupid to wreck one of their trucks - instructors are very meticulous.

In for May 29-30

Currently planning on driving my '18 from the Seattle area to Utah over the Memorial Day Weekend.

Looking forward to meeting other Forum members!

Is this suitable for 16-17 years olds? I assume most people there are old farts like me but considering giving this to my son as a surprise birthday gift. Website says minimum age is 16 and is suitable for people of all driving abilities but would love to get thoughts from those who have actual experience.

I think that would be an awesome gift for a 16/17 year old, IF he has the right attitude for it.

Is he the kind of kid that's going to carefully listen to the instructors and follow their instruction? Is he social enough to be in a truck all day with a complete stranger who's likely to be much older (they pair up participants)? Does he have a reasonable level of driving experience, and is he comfortable driving on his own already?

If you can answer yes to all of that, then I would say hell yeah, go for it! I'd have been super geeked out over something like that when I was that age!

For the veterans of Raptor Assault, do they allow you to mount go pros on the outside of the truck or just from inside the cabin? I noticed all the videos on YouTube were from inside.
