Mine has rattled since taking delivery. It happens at low rpm (about 1500 RPM) under slight load, when you take off slowly with only slight throttle. You can also replicate it at standstill with the brake on and slight throttle. Today was 1st service at dealer and they verified the complaint. Their report verbatim:
"Check/Repair Buzz/Rattle on Tstart from stop, has to have load on engine
Correction: Verified concern, requires teardown"
Further discussion revealed they don't know what is causing it and they would need to do a tear down to further investigate the source. They have had this same issue on other trucks and are waiting for Ford to formulate a TSB for correction. They have not done a tear down on any other trucks. Essentially they said ignore it for now as I have most of my warranty remaining and simply to monitor oil consumption in the meantime. So far I have had no issues with oil consumption. Research in the owner community seems to point to either dual injectors noise or wastegate actuator noise.
My previous 2017 Limited Supercrew 3.5 had no such rattle but of course it is a different engine.
