But the thing is, you’re one of what.... 35 private owners? if that?
Mad respect for landing one, but let’s be honest, it’s like landing a Ford GT.
And it’s going to be for the foreseeable future. And despite what some Ford folks say, the minute Dodge axes the TRX, the Raptor R is cancelled one minute before. They never intended to put a V8 into the Raptor, they were shamed into it by Dodge. I’m glad Dodge did it and I never thought Ford would even do it, I only thought they’d talk about it.
Instead, Ford did something worse: they talked about it, pretended they were going to make it, but only make some pathetic number of Raptor R’s, so they could say they made a better off road truck that Dodge, but Ford isn’t even producing enough for race homologation in some production racing classes, heck they could now claim they’re a limited run manufacturer like Superperformance does with their GT40 replicas. Ford has basically pulled one of the biggest cons on the truck buying public in that last 25 years with the Raptor R. Sure, you can order it, but you are 99.5% likely to never see it.
So no, Eco Rap owners aren’t dumping their trucks for the v8 Raptor because the v8 Raptor is so limited in numbers as to be unobtainable. The delivery vs order rate is what? .05% ? I’m asking.
Jen Juan was a cool truck. Other Raptors are as well. Ford needs to do better.
