radiator broke

a little on top of the engine. more inside the fender, and a lot on the bottom. when i pulled into the dealership the truck was sitting for 5 minutes and there was a small puddle under the truck about the size of a couple quarters

My guess just a fluke week spot in it. It's good they are putting in new and not repairing it.

I am going with to many LED's on the truck. Maybe the flashing strobe light effect... They could have melted the weld or the weight of them made the truck lean more rubbing on the radiator...

Ya know, all those flashing LEDs could have caused a harmonic that matched the frequency of the radiator and cracked it.

Or it just could have been a bad radiator...

Nahh, it was the LEDs.

I heard his truck with all the lights on is what caused the mylasia flight to go off course.....

I know something like this happened to Joe Racca out at the Raptoberfest track while prepping the track a couple weeks before the event. Talk to joe more and he might be able to fill you in. I seriously think it could've been a rock OR a simple hose connector/split ends from ford over tightening when at the factory. The dealer could have easily collected from ford for the warranty and just fixed the connection themselves. You could Ask the dealer to see the old radiator out of curiosity so you can help this from happening again. I bet they say they threw it away though. Smh!

Reviving an old thread here...

Was changing my oil earlier this week and noticed I had a coolant leak. It wasn't bad, but definitely leaking. I never noticed because the coolant was collecting on the skid plate and not dripping onto the pavement until I moved the truck. I couldn't find the source of the leak. Hoses seemed fine and there was no visible damage to the radiator. I added 1/2 gallon of coolant and took it to the dealer to have it pressure tested.

They tested it and found the leak coming from one of the seams on the bottom plastic reservoir. No idea how this happened since that part is fairly well protected from getting hit. Dealer said it was probably a weak point and was just a matter of time. They ordered a new radiator and are installing it as I type this. All covered under original factory warranty - 30k miles only.

Just thought I'd share for anyone else searching.
