2nd, that reading at 1800 feet of the back license plate at 13 mph is a JOKE.
They get like 2 hits outta 20 tries from over 800 ft. I never said impossible, I said not effective and not consistant above 800. Ya video proves my point

Every churp you here that laser make is a warning for the ****** passport. You get so many warnings that you should have time to reduce speed by the time the LEO gets his lock. In traffic at 80 mph it's difficult to get a hit at 1500 feet. And only big cities are using the lasers due to cost. I've had laser hits in Houston, Fort Worth, Dallas, Jacksonville, Orlando, memphis and knoxville. I've never been hit by a laser in the state of Louisiana. Big cities mean heavy traffic and fast speeds. Laser is needed there due to these conditions. Cost is too high for most.

If the LEO tries me at 1500 ft, I'll get the warning BEFORE he gets his reading ;)
80% effect under 800 ft, 20% effect over 800 ft. I'll play those odds. Here's the point, tell ya little cop friends to be patient and zap me around 800 ft or less so the odds are in THEIR favor. Cause right now, the odds are IN MY FAVOR ;)

First off, it was 8 hits past 800 feet. Wrong.

Second, I know multiple people, myself included, that have received citations at well over your 800' threshold. So, you're wrong again.

Third, if you're going 5-10 over, you might be able to slow down enough to not get pulled over. MAYBE. All depends on your luck and the LEO's steady hands. Now if you're going 90 in a 65 and you get popped with laser, your ****** goes off, and you slam on your brakes while trying not to shit your pants, you may get down to 85-80 before he gets a lock. It only takes a 1/6 of a second for the beam to bounce off your vehicle and get a speed reading and I highly doubt your reflexes are that quick.

I have a laser jammer on my bmw, I got tagged 17 over and the jammer didn't do anything because he hit my windshield instead of the Grille area where the shifters are installed.

You can't get a reading off of a windshield with LIDAR. It has to be a flat, reflective surface. You might have a problem with your installation or your jammers may not be capable of jamming certain guns.

I like my ****** 9500ix. I travel about 450 miles per week highway and about 100 city. In the city we have a lot of speed cameras & red light cameras, The 9500ix warns me of those locations.

Laser Jammers:

First off there are two basic types of laser jammers, active and passive.

Passive Jammers: Passive jammers claim that they can disrupt a police radar and/or laser signal by reflecting back to the officers gun. These passive devices do not work, and Radar Roy is so confident that they will fail in protecting you, that he is offering a $5000.00 reward to anyone that can show him a passive jammer that does work.

Active Jammers: On the other hand, active laser jammers are very effective in jamming police laser.

Once an active laser jammer senses the presence of a police lidar beam it activates and sends out its own light beam, overpowering the police laser gun.

I explain my theory this way: “I shine a hundred candle power flashlight at you and you respond by shinning a million candle power flashlight at me. Your more powerful flashlight washes out mine”

All quality active laser jammers are designed to mount in the grill area of your vehicle and some, like the ****** ZR4 come with an additional laser head to mount in the rear.

As police target either the headlamps and/or front license plate you should consider models that have two or more heads that would mount between your headlamps and the license plate.

If you drive a larger vehicle such as full sized SUV, you should also consider a model that has four heads to provide the additional coverage.

There are several active laser jammers on the market today and Radar Roy recommends that you review his laser jammer testing reports so you can select the product best for you.

The Top Laser Jammers made today, include:
•Blinder Xtreme: The Blinder Xtreme was rated the #1 laser jammer at the 2008 Radar Detector Shoot-Out in El Paso.
•Laser Interceptor: The most powerful laser jammer made today, rated the #1 laser jammer at the 2007 and 2008 Guys of Lidar test
•****** ZR4: Front and rear laser jamming system was developed by ****** and interfaces with ****** and Beltronics radar detector units.

There are no federal prohibitions of laser jammers, as laser is controlled by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration under CFR 21, subpart 1040, 1041 for eye safety.

However states have enacted laws banning the ownership, sale and use of laser jammers they are Minnesota, California, Utah, Colorado, Illinois, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Virginia and Washington DC.

With that said... I have a Valentine1 and it works extremely well. I live in California though so wouldn't go the Jammer route as the fine is stupid high.

Very quality post. Although a few changes have happened since that article. Jammers are now illegal in Texas. And Laser Interceptor has surpassed Blinder in performance. The ****** ZR4's, while very good at shifting certain guns, cannot handle a lot of the newer technology guns on the market and simply won't work.

What wires are you taping into on back of mirror for hardwiring?

I am using pin 1 (Blue with red stripe) and pin 4 (Black with gray stripe) on my 16 pin mirror connector. I bought the Invisicord with micro taps and the power tap on pin 1 was very tight, but the ground tap on pin 4 was much easier to install. I used a standard straight pin to the make the gap on pin 1 big enough to slide the micro tap in with a pair of needle nose pliers.

By the way, I have the Redline with the new BS/RDR software and it beats the 9500 ix by a long shot on all the distance tests because it uses the superior M3 dual-antennas. It also consistently beats the V1 in very tightly controlled tests.

I use Highway mode for the long roads in Texas and AutoNoX mode for driving around town. (AutoNoX turns off X-band and reduces most K-band falses from big-box-store door openers)

If you want the most distance in a windshield mounted RD, choose the Redline. Coupled with ****** Live, you get the best distance on the highway and the GPS control with Red Light Cameras, etc. for driving around town.
