I have them all-
I used to be exclusive to Valentine One, but after the second one got stolen out of the Raptor, I decided to try something new, and Im glad I did.
In my Raptor, I use the 9500 Carbon edition, which I wont ever go back from. Like it was said early, 95% of all signals are real cops anywhere local to you because the radar detector tags every signal with a GPS proximity, so if it hits a signal three times in the same vicinity, it knows its a false signal, and it beeps and tells you "stored". In addition, I have it set to tell me my true GPS measured speed, so I dont really look down at my gauges much, since my speed I get as I check my rearview mirror.
My remaining V1 my wife actually prefers because she likes to know where the signal is coming from without looking around, but what I DONT like is the fact that she turns down the volume if its getting too many hits that are false. Nothing sux more than seeing a cop passing you, and noticing your radar lights are totally lit up with no sound because you forget it was turned down.
I also bought a ****** IQ when it came out thinking at some point it would be upgraded to tell you direction by using a GUI radar screen that could pinpoint blips, but that has yet to happen, so I leave that in my RV mounted on the right side next to passenger side mirror. It shows speed in a big font, so I can see it all the way from driver's seat no problem. It is just too bulky for use in the raptor, but the RV is a great use for it.
Valentine as everyone knows has a patent on directional display, but that patent is supposed to run out THIS year, so I expect the competition to come out with some very interesting detectors in the near future.
