Shifters on the ci and the Blinder (brand name) do have good success on the laser. I have heard of some failure on both systems but that could be operator error. Obviusly you still can't blow by a cop at 80+ even with all these systems in place. I am not a big fan of the traffic enforcement end of the law but I have had some very good conversations with Michigan state police officers and they are very good at visual speed recognition, that alone is not used to write a ticket.
They also say that vehicles that look different or are out front are more likely to be targeted and all of my cars stand out although the raptor stands out less at long distances unless you have the lights day or night that is when the cool grill marker lights are not good. Sometimes I unplug mine for a faster run. Anything you can do to blend in will help for those of us who need to run at terminal vilosity. After years of cat and mouse with the law it all comes down to situational awareness since most of my tickets are a direct result of not paying attention.
I could write a book on this and debate it for days but each one of us has to find what works and in the long run it will be a combination of lots of things, for me in most states it is a reasonable speed and blending in.
