Not sure if this has been discussed before, But a friend of mine showed me a really quick fix to keep the engine start stop button always off with no error codes!

under the driver's side pull out that first plug below and boom now the truck always stays on without having to use the button it’s that easy.

That plug I believe is for letting the truck know when there is a trailer attached to not shut off the truck.

I don’t understand, are you referring to the auto start/stop annoyance? Or the actual start button, in which case... how the hell do you turn the truck off?

He’s talking about the start/stop annoyance issue. Only problem with doing it that way is each time you want to tow something you have to keep plugging and unplugging. If you pull the switch on the dash and short the switch with a piece of wire you get rid of the annoyance and your tow isn’t affected.

I pulled the plug 2 years ago. My auto stop/start is deactivated. Takes 2 seconds and no ill effects. I can easily plug back in just as fast if I need to tow.

Under the drivers side what? The dash? The drivers seat?

Or simply plug the 4dtech.com device into the OBD2 port and deactivate or reactivate in 20 seconds.
