Just received my new 2012, and love it. I'm a bit of a nervous new Dad. :)

I want to do a spray-in on the bed, such as Line-X. However, a few questions came up:

First, I have the built-in bed step and the gate is covered with plastic on the inside. So, the inside of the gate won't be sprayed.

Second, I have the Ford bed extender, which attaches on each side of the bed walls. How do they spray around that typically?

Finally, I'm going to install a BakFlip G2. Will the spray-in get in the way of setting the rails for that?

Thanks.

I looked around and found answers to several of your questions in the Exterior Modifications forum:

Nice of you to do the search Kaiser. Folks need to spend some time searching instead of posting the questions that have been asked before...

Bed extender can be removed and then re-installed. You can remove it and re-install it :)

No issues with installing a BakFlip after you've had the bed sprayed.

Have you considered a BedRug instead?

Thanks. Why would I consider BedRug?

I did the stripper pole delete:

And then I did Smiths Ultimate Linings, Same as Line-X but cheaper.

I highly recommend the handle delete because the tailgate step still works without it and it takes about 15 min to install. Then you get your tailgate Spray-Lined and lose that cheap looking plastic liner.

I like the pole, at least for now. The plastic does not look that bad.

So, I think it's LineX. I'll remove the bed extender, and replace after the spray.

Going with Bak Flip F1 for the cover, I'm thinking.

not exactly the same:waytogo: cheaper isnt always better. the grade of material isnt exactly the same. at the end of the day they are both bedliners, but you do get what you pay for.

you will have no problems with the bed extender, nor the tailgate step. we usually just dont spray the tailgate, or i keep panels in stock to do the stripper pole delete. and your backflip mounts to the bedrails which are not affected by the spray on bedliner installation. good luck with your mods, and if you truly want a spray on, dont let all these bedrug guys change your mind. everyone on here is crazy about bedrugs. i dont mind them, but buy what best suits your needs.
