Typically most Line-X places remove anything attached to the inside of the bed including the bolts the fasten the bed to the frame. They do this so they don't spray over any bolt heads etc. so you can still unfasten everything if necessary. In my truck. they removed the bed bolts, in-bed tie downs, and removed the plastic piece on the inside of the tailgate that goes over the latch mechanism. I went with Line-X Premium and I've been really happy with it. Thrown and dragged stuff around the bed without even a scratch.

My only regret is that I didn't have them Line-X my rear wheel wells at the same time. Might go back and have that done at some point.

not exactly the same:waytogo: cheaper isnt always better. the grade of material isnt exactly the same. at the end of the day they are both bedliners, but you do get what you pay for.

you will have no problems with the bed extender, nor the tailgate step. we usually just dont spray the tailgate, or i keep panels in stock to do the stripper pole delete. and your backflip mounts to the bedrails which are not affected by the spray on bedliner installation. good luck with your mods, and if you truly want a spray on, dont let all these bedrug guys change your mind. everyone on here is crazy about bedrugs. i dont mind them, but buy what best suits your needs.

The one recommendation I'd make on the stripper pole delete is to Linex the bolts on the cover plate to keep them in place. They don't snug down very well, and seem to strip out very easy. I had mine covered in LineX, and will say, I'm very impressed with LineX so far, way better than Rhino.

LOL! Ultimate is just a LINE-X wannabe.

I had a Smith's Ultimate in my PSD and used to have Reliance steel fork lift stacks of 1/4" sheet into the bed. Even when they pushed the front edge of the steel across the liner there were not visible marks. I'd say thats good enough for me. Had that truck for 10 years and liner still looked like new! I'd argue that most people with any kind of bed liner don't put that much stress on them.

I read that comment in your thread before I did the liner but I didn't have any trouble with my bolts wanting to strip out. They all snugged up nicely.

there are coarse thread and fine thread tailgate screws. it sounds like when you took the plastic off you used the wrong ones. we do it all the time with no problems.

I went with Line-X. I have the stripper pole + bed extender and they weren't even discussed. They just removed whatever needed removing and sprayed the bed. I love it, it works great. I spilled some gear oil all over it the other day. Some dish soap and my pressure washer and it's good as new (after sitting there for a week). It looks great too, no regrets on Line-X at all, I'd do it again. I had mine done from the dealer.

No regrets for linex here either! Almost went another route and glad I didn't. They did a great job on all that they sprayed! (flares, bed and wheel wells)

If you order a new Raptor with spray-in bed liner from Ford, its MSRP: $475 / Invoice: $394. I think it is cheaper than Line-X and almost the same as BedRug.

Yes, you can. But, it's only about 60 mils thick which is NOT a bedliner, it's a slip resistant surface. Also, you get a 3yr/36k warranty as opposed to LINE-X which has a limited lifetime warranty. If some happens to the factory bedliner, the dealer can't fix it and the original product is not available.

It's really easy to go with the factory spray-on, but it's not a good deal.
