Yes. I was actually surprised it turned out to be the rod bearing. The symptoms were similar to the low oil pressure sensor failure. The truck would lose power when accelerating and the low oil pressure light would come on. This happened 3 times then the check engine light came on. I assumed it would be a sensor because it didn't have the knocking sound you normally hear from a failed rod bearing.
Dropped it off at the dealer and expected to replace a sensor. I was surprised when they said it was a rod bearing failure and they preferred to replace the entire engine rather than rebuild it. I totally agree with the replace vs repair.
That does suck, but it’s good that it happened now, early on. You should negotiate and extended warranty from Ford.
At 10 days, you aren’t even 1/3 to a lemon yet. It’s easy for us to say this and all, but be patient, they’ll make it right.
That is a rare failure, I can’t remember anyone on here mentioning similar yet.
