Few months ago I towed a U-Haul from SLC to NYC, then drove back on the Transamerica Trail from OBX to SLC. No big deal either way. This is a 2014 Raptor with 90k miles. Did 10-12 hour days while towing. Shorter than that off-road. Easy drive. Highly recommend a soft cooler or something for drinks/snacks in the back seat. Relax, check the fluids once in a while, and enjoy the scenery.
If you're doing any off-road miles, the suggestions change a bit. I'm not a highly experienced off-roader, but I was surprised that I had to clear the trail twice from trees that had blown over. Was really glad I had some soft shackles and a couple snatch straps with me. Wish I would have thrown an electric chainsaw in...but I'm lazy and would prefer not to saw/cut/ax stuff manually. You don't need a chainsaw, just something to take some branches off trees. Also carried extra fuel, Maxtrax, extra water, shovel, first aid kit, assorted tools, air compressor, tire repair kit, etc. Great fun, no problems. Have a great trip!
