It's a plastic cover above the rear view mirror. If I get tired of turning off the pop-up every time I start the truck, I might just cover the camera with a piece of tape.

I turned lane assist off by pressing the button on the center console.

Yeah... same here. Though admittedly their method of finding and disabling cameras by pulling wires is much more James Bond-y than just pushing a dull ol' button.

I don't think that will work, as I have gotten the same message when there is heavy frost and the camera can't see anything.

Exactly. If the camera (IPM-A) is unplugged, the message will be there regardless. If you were to plug the IPM-A back in and block the camera, you would receive a warning message for camera blocked.

Figures, guess I'll just have to close the message every time. So @FordTechOne , how do you explain going in to limp mode when the pre-collision was "off" under the dash settings?

There is no "limp mode", only pre-charge brake intervention or active braking with a warning message. Active braking will default to on after every key cycle.

Let me rephrase.... the light on the dash came on and truck went into limp mode with the "wrench" light while slowly accelerating past 80mph with no cars in front of me. This happened with the camera plugged in and the pre-collision disabled in the dash.

I had to turn the truck off, lock it and after a few minutes started the truck then everything was back to normal.

Then there will be DTCs stored in one or more modules; that indicates a fault, and is not normal operation of the system. If you're under warranty, I'd recommend having it diagnosed and repaired.
