all the threads i have seen have all referred to the loud power steering pump. well, mine isnt loud. its completely quiet, yet it doesnt work very well. i noticed this a couple days ago. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. no noise indicating the pump is bad. what are everyones opinion and what can i check before i make a dealer appt?

It's always going to be tough to turn while parked. At Prairie City were you aired down?

Dry turns are always hard on PS pump. Always try to be moving while turning. This is especially important since Raptors run 35" tires and up.

smell the fluid does it smell burnt? also pull a little fluid out and check to see if it looks burnt. i know when i did my PS upgrades the fluid didnt look too good and i only had 14,000 miles on the truck. maybe the fluid is starting to loose its attributes

I just had to replace my power steering pump it was doing something similar to yours, it was really hard to turn after I slowed down and braked all the way. Seems yours works some though, mine didn't work at all.

Mine never made noise as well.
