So, I figure I'd start adding to this thread as my issues have gotten a bit larger (potentially).

My first issue was the remote start no longer working via the remote or FordPass app. At first they stated wiring needed to be repaired (or wiring was loose). Their fix lasted about a week or two before I realized it no longer worked again (I don't use remote start often). I brought it back to have them fix the wires again, they ended up having to order a new battery monitor...which they ordered. A week later, they installed it...and I checked before I left the dealership - it worked perfectly. A week later, no longer worked.

While this was all happening, I had another issue which I could not reproduce. It was either related to the transmission or engine. I could not reproduce it, nor could they even see the issue...and therefore they could do nothing about it except tell me that it was "normal operation". Fine.

The engine/trans issue started to happen more frequently in the past week of my first issue above, so while on my way in for the 3rd repair of the remote start issue I was praying the engine/trans issue would occur. Long story short, they were able to experience the issue with me in the vehicle...which prompted them to review deeper into what was going on. After the initial day or two, they were able to tell me there was a stored code about oil pressure being an indicator and would call me back after investigating further. I have yet to hear back with any updates. I will call back this Friday to reach out (this will mark 2 weeks without the truck).

I'm starting to fear the worst here and have already been trying to research the possibilities of a buyback. :(

7100 miles on the odo at this moment

so what was the engine/transmission issue you were having? Geez in the 2nd generation of 3.5 you would think there wouldnt be so many problems...... FERD i guess.

Sounds like the morale of the story is not to drive this truck and park it in the garage just to look at. I would hate to put money into this truck and only have problems.

Ah yes, my trans problem was a mis-shift similar to a couple other posts here and unusual/harsh shifting. Luckily the mis-shift only happened once and it didn't cause any damage (I hope). The problem that I was having (which was what was finally observed by Ford) was HUGE power loss on acceleration. It wasn't turbo lag or a boost pressure leak. But man the truck would barely move. But I thought maybe it was also a trans problem till Ford confirmed it was possibly an oil pressure issue.

So did Ford confirm it was an oil pressure or is it still a possibility? If it is an oil pressure issue, any information on what is causing a loss of pressure?

That's what the stored code reported and that's all they have shared with me. I have yet to get a call back even though they were supposed to follow up. I will be calling Friday at the 2 week mark.

Please let me know what your updates are. Curious to what tripped the oil pressure issue.

4X4 Problems

I have developed 4X4 issues over the past two months, just as my truck turned a year old,,

I do a lot of road trips with my truck and about 2 months ago I noticed a grinding sound or rattle from the front driver wheel, it is an intermediate problem, as you are driving along above 70mph the front will make the grinding/rattle sound getting louder and louder until a few bang are heard and felt threw the steering wheel. the noise will stop until it builds up again, it would repeat this over and over at high way speeds.

the first time this happened I took it to the dealership where I purchased the Raptor and they were unable to repeat the sound and asked me to bring it back when it was acting up. I ended up needed to take the truck on a road trip about 700mile, the entire time the truck was acting up, I ignored the problem hoping it would break something for the shop to fix, at the end of the trip I noticed when my 4X4 was engaged the steering to have a mind of its own pulling me in random directions. So I took it back to ford, I let them know it was pulling in weird ways in 4x4 and that the grinding was still happening above 70mph.

Ford kept my truck for a month this time, in that time they replaced the front wheel locks and one tire, they said they fixed the grindin it was caused by bad wheel locks. The pulling in 4x4 caused them to open a ticket directly with ford, I gave them 2 weeks to hopefully fix the issue while I was away for business when I get back they just blame ford for slow responses and that they just replaced the tire to try and fix the 4x4 pull, they let me take the truck home telling me the grinding should be fixed but the 4x4 is still broken and they will give me a call once ford gives them tests to run.

2 days later, last night, I'm driving home and the grinding starts acting up as if nothing was done to the truck. I confront the dealership this morning and they are doubling down saying its fords fault for not telling them how to fix this issue.

My mom owns an almost identical truck to mine there is a noticeable issue with the 4x4, I even let the dealership know I would make time for them to repeat the issue, I feel like they think Im crazy and that they cant repeat this issue

Very Frustrated!

Geez that's pretty bad. What is your build date? Sounds like a bad wheel bearing or CV's.

Ok, here's my update on my oil pressure issue. Dealer finally called back, mentioned both valve covers and seals needed to be replaced. It was based on an SSN (never heard of an SSN - but they stated it is similar to a TSB). The SSN stated something like, if there was power loss and no oil consumption (which was my case)...then perform the SSN described above. I'll should be picking it up in a day or two - they are still working on my recurring remote start issue. I'm hoping the power loss problem is finally gone and this just isn't a bandaid to a bigger problem.

Please let me know what your updates are. Curious to what tripped the oil pressure issue.
